The Card Counter's Guide to the Markets: 10-week course starting 16 September

Why am I losing money?
…when all of my trades are 3:1 RR?!?!?
Why am I losing money?
…when I have an 85% win rate?
Why am I losing money?
…by giving back multiple days' profits on one bad day?

It doesn’t matter whether you’re trading futures, forex, options, stocks, ETFs, binaries or event contracts, if you don’t respect probability and risk, you are likely trading at a disadvantage.

Our brand new live, premium course will teach you how to assess and leverage probability in your trading so that you’re in a position to take trades only when the “deck is stacked in your favor”, i.e. you have a proven, statistical edge.

If you don’t have a defined, proven, statistical edge, then in the long run, you’ll lose money. Period.

If you feel unsure that you have a clear trading system, or you’re sick of having a bad day wipe out several good days, read on…

By the end of this 10-week course, you’ll have learned how to:

  • use your existing trading platform’s historic data as a statistics source
  • gather statistics from market structure, order flow and Market Profile and leverage these to your advantage
  • monetize trade setups that have a statistical edge using futures, stocks, ETFs, options, binary options and CME event contracts
  • have your trading platform act as your go/no-go to help cage that trading-addicted monkey brain that blows up accounts!
  • automate trade setups that have statistical edge

What you're getting…

  • 10 live classes – typically 60-120 minutes duration
  • 24/7 online access to recordings of all classes
  • Private 24/7 chat stream to ask questions and interact with the instructor and other students
  • Access to TRG’s TickMaker™ online foundation order flow education

  • I’m not interested in futures (or stocks, forex, ETFs, options, binary options, CME event contracts). How is this relevant for me?
This course covers statistical analysis that can be applied to all product types. It’s important that you understand all of the analysis. The trade setups presented for futures/stocks/forex/ETFs require an understanding of the options/binary options/event contract setups. If you’re not trading futures/stocks/ETFs, you can enroll for Part I only, but we recommend that you expand your horizons by enrolling for the complete course.

  • What software/platform do I need?
Course examples and automated systems will be taught using Sierra Chart. We recommend this for data gathering, order flow capability and support for a wide range of markets. We will also show how 3rd party add-ons can be used with NinjaTrader 8 and Sierra Chart for added productivity and efficiency.

  • Do I need to be a programmer?
Hell no. The analytical approaches will work fine using a pen & paper!  It helps if you’re comfortable with basic level math and simple Excel formulas. When you enroll, we’ll send you a recommended reading/watching list and some pre-work to help you get the most out of the course.

  • Does this only work for futures? ES? What about EUREX or TSLA, or SPX or CL, or AAPL, or frozen OJ & pork bellies….?
The course will mainly demonstrate concepts using ES futures (which can be directly related/translated to SPX, etc.), however, everything being taught can be applied to any traded product. Perhaps you like trading Bund futures, or Nadex 2 hour expiry binary options, or Nikkei 225 futures, or 0DTE options on TSLA. All of the concepts taught are applicable.

  • I can’t make the schedule.
No problem! All live classes are recorded and will be available for you to watch in your own time. We typically post recordings to our video library within 24 hours of class completion. You’ll also have 24/7 access to a private student chat stream in our TRG community, the Pit.

  • Order Flow? Market Profile? What the hell is that? I like my indicators.
Of course you do. Are you consistently profitable? If so, great. If not then guess what…. it’s your *$£%* indicators, a lack of trade setups with a statistical edge, and an undisciplined approach to setups and risk management that’s holding you back. You’re simply not trading like a serious trader. You’re stuck in the retail trader/technical analysis trap. Escape while you can.

When you enroll in this course, you’ll get access to TRG’s TickMaker™ online foundation order flow education – hundreds of our students and members have used this to develop consistent profitability, get funded by and make withdrawals from trading evaluators. Studying these online lessons is required pre-work for this live course – you’ll struggle without it.

  • Who’s the instructor?
This course has been developed and will be delivered by Lee Harris – Co-Founder of Trading Research Group, Founder of and developer at emoji trading and a full-time trader. Click here for an example of Lee’s trading & teaching style.

  • What’s card counting?
Short answer… casino games like roulette have a built-in house edge. In the long run, the casino always wins. Blackjack (when it’s not a game with a continuous shuffler) has known probabilities and if you keep track of the cards that have been played, it’s possible to have a small edge over the casino. This has been exploited in the past and dramatized in films like “21“. Intrigued? Learn more about card counting here.

Course developer and instructor Lee Harris is the grandson of a bookmaker that worked for many years at horse and dog racing meetings and owned a betting shop in the 1960s. Lee’s had the “pleasure” of over 35 business trips to Las Vegas so decided to learn card counting to not lose money and get free pre-dinner drinks 😄 He’s also been barred by most UK bookmakers for exploiting “matched betting” promotions… This course teaches how the principles of “beating the house” can be applied to trading.

We all know these days that the majority of trading volume is machines and not humans.  This is because algorithms can process information and make decisions much faster than humans can. They can also trade 24/7, giving them a significant advantage over human traders.

Your hear it all the time. “The algos moved the market.” “The algos took my stops.” The algos this, the algos that. But what is an algo? It’s just automation!  A set of instructions. In the context of trading, an algorithm can be used to identify opportunities, place orders, and manage risk.

So how does this help you?  Well as the saying goes, if you can’t beat ’em… join ’em! It’s time to create your own “algos” and put them to work.  If you want to deploy your edge perfectly, you need to use algos. But not just any algos. Not some “black box” that promises to make you money without explaining how.  You need to use algorithms that are custom-tailored to your specific needs, trading style, and goals.  You need to automate your edge.

In this 7-day workshop, I’ll walk you through the tools available to you right out of the box with Sierra Chart, show you how to design, build, and deploy a bot, and even give it to you once class is complete, so that you can continue to explore on your own!

Book your seat now, and discover the power of algos at your fingertips in Sierra Chart.

There is a risk of loss in futures, forex and options trading. There is risk of loss trading futures, forex and options online. Please trade with capital you can afford to lose. Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. for example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all which can adversely affect trading results.
